Treasurer Nancy Hance presented the Treasurer’s Report. The current balance in the treasury is $2,986.09. Our 50/50 drawing today was won by David Monahan. He split a pot of $28.00 with the Chamber.

City Update:
Sandy Stokes reported that activities at the City of Foristell are fairly slow at the present time. They will be letting Senator Claire McCaskel use the Old City Hall Building for a Listening Post Meeting on Thursday March 12th. The City will be applying for Stimulus Funds from the State of Missouri to fund a new Sewage Lift Station Plant to replace the Lagoon currently being used. It will cost approximately 1.7 million dollars. The Lagoon will be removed when the Lift Station replaces it. The City will be asking for a No Tax Bond Issue to help raise funds for the project. Alderman John Pickering will attend a meeting today on the I-70 Corridor Highway Expansion of adding two traffic lanes to Highway I-70 from St. Louis to Kansas City. It will be held at the University of Missouri Extension Service Office in Warrenton at 4:00 p.m.

Program:
Our speaker today was Annie Schulte who is the Marketing Officer for the Crider Center. She gave us a very interesting and informative presentation on what the Crider Center does and how people can benefit from their services. They have been in business for thirty years, twenty eight of which were dedicated to mental health care for those who could not support themselves in St. Charles, Wentzville, and Washington. They have expanded to cover other health services over the last two years for adults and children. These include such services as Primary Health Clinics, Dental Health Care, School Based Prevention Services for children and youth, Crisis Response Team, Partnership with Families, School Based Mental Health Specialists in schools to provide specialized services to improve student functioning and create connections between home and school, Rehabilitation Clubhouses for Adults, Community Support Services, Pathways which is an assisted living facility for adults with persistent serious mental illness, The facility in Wentzville now has a Pediatrician, a Nurse Practitioner , an OBGWN Doctor, nine Dental Technicians, an X-Ray Lab, and an On Sight Pharmacy which are Federally supported. The facility will be expanded from 33,000 square feet to 55,000 square feet to accommodate the increased volume of patients and services. There are negotiations going on at the present time for a new facility to be constructed in Warrenton west of the Outlet Mall. Currently there is a Pediatric Care Center in Warrenton. The Crider Center provides Medical and Mental Services to those who have MO HealthNet (Medicaid), those who are uninsured on a sliding free scale, and those covered by some private insurance companies. Any one can go to the Crider Center for help regardless of whether or not they have private medical insurance. Those with private medical insurance help to offset the costs of those without insurance. Federal support funds only cover fifty cents on a dollar spent for services.
.

Current Business:
Zell Setzer reported that the plans for the Farmers Market are progressing, but they are having trouble getting vendors. They currently have six vendors in a fifty radius of Foristell.
We started a new practice with this month’s 50/50 drawing. There is a cash drawing, and in addition there is a drawing for a guest pass to the EDC Leadership Council Seminars. This month David Monahan won both drawings. Congratulations David.

New Business:
Larry announced that the League of Chambers, which covers St. Charles and Warren Counties, will hold a Legislative Breakfast on March 13th. All of the State Representatives in the
Counties will be present. This is a great chance to meet your local Representatives and ask them questions you may have about your area. March 6th is the deadline for early registration of $15.00 per person. After that, the cost is $20.00. Let Secretary Ray know if you plan to attend.
Ribbon Cutting ceremonies will be held soon for the Foristell’s New City Hall, and Boehmer Brothers’ new location.

School District’s Reports:
Kari Monsees, CFO of the Wentzville School District reported that funding has been approved for an addition to Timberland Highland High School.
Jack Sanford, Director of Plant Operations for the Wright City School District reported that the new school on Cotton Road is about 80% complete. Water is going in now. They will be putting a no tax bond issue on the April ballot to raise funds to air condition the High School, and improve the athletic field.

There was no other business. Meeting adjourned at 1:05 p.m.
Our next meeting will be held on April 7, 2009.
Respectfully submitted,
Ray Alexander, Secretary
