Regular Meeting November 2, 2005

October 5, 2005 – Approved as printed.
Treasurer’s
Report: Paul Brockmeyer - Approved as presented. Current
balance is $2885.42
City Report: Mayor Larry Donnelly reported that water
is scheduled for Foristell from Water District #2 in a couple of
weeks. There are many projects in the works. Mike Dooley, Project
Superintendent for McBride’s Liberty Project, says there is
meeting scheduled with MODOT tomorrow about the new overpass at
Foristell.
Program:
Kim Grothaus with Human Resources Solutions gave a very informative
presentation on the various aspects of human resources in which
businesses are involved. She said, if you have one employee you
are involved in human resources. Her company provides human resource
consulting. Anyone interested can call her at 573-384-5508.
New
Business: Election of Officers for 2006. President Larry
presented the slate of officers for next year. They are as follows:

– Ray Alexander
Larry asked for additional nominations from the floor. There were
none. Rose Mack made a motion to approve the slate of officers by
acclamation. Ken Orf seconded the motion. It passed 100%.
Announcements:
There is a River Otters special to be held at the Family Arena tonight
from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the box
office at discount rates for Chamber members. Be sure to identify
yourselves. The League of Chambers Luncheon will be held at the
Old Hickory Country Club on Tuesday November 8, 2005 from 12:00
p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Advanced reservations
are $20.00 per person before November 4th, and after November 4th
the cost is $25.00 per person. Non members are $30.00 per person.
The guest speaker is Governor Matt Blunt. If you have any questions
of the Governor, forward them to Larry Shroth at lshroth@ameren.com
Call Larry if you want to attend and he will make reservations,
or contact the O’Fallon Chamber at 636-240-1818. The League
will hold a Day at the Capitol on February 2, 2006. This will be
a great opportunity for Chamber Members to talk to their local Representatives
and Representatives from other areas also. Transportation will be
furnished, but the arrangements are not available at this time.
Information will be available in the future.
Rose
Mack announced that Senator Jon Dolan has resigned his position
as Senator and is taking a job with the Missouri Department of Health.
There will be a special election to fill his office. Rose will be
out of a job.
There
is no regular meeting scheduled for December. In the past the Chamber
has participated in the Foristell Christmas open house at City Hall.
Secretary Ray will let the membership know the arrangements as soon
as information is available. The next regular meeting of the Chamber
will be held on January 4, 2006 at Ruggeri’s Ristorante at
12:00 noon. Board meeting to follow
